Hi, my name is Sarah, I am a 30 year old Scot, living in Edinburgh and always looking for the next adventure. In my freetime I am passionate about helping those who are less fortunate than me. One of my most successful profects to date was trekking the Great Wall of China in aid of “The Scottish Society for Autism”. With this New Year upon us I have decided this is the perfect opportunity to raise much needed funds for another charity close to my heart - "Wateraid", and to embark on another personal challenge - Trekking to Machu Picchu.
In 2009 I raised £3958.00 through donations, sponsorship for the Great Wall Trek and events, such as a ceilidh, a Bodyshop party and a Quiz. I have not forgotten how much time, effort and commitment such a feat took but the success of the challenge and the contribution I made to such a special charity made every minute worth it. I am hoping to replicate or if I may be so ambitious, surpass this figure! Through my blog you will be able to keep up-to-date with my fundraising and training progress. I know those who are kind enough to sponsor me and/or support my events will want to know I am working hard for their money and this blog will record that journey!
